Get Set for RBA
Summer School 2021 Information
The purpose of “Get Set for RBA” summer school was to provide transition support and enrichment opportunities to our Year 7 cohort joining RBA in September 2021.
Eligibility for our summer school was available to all students who had reached the end of their primary education and who were due to start at RBA in September 2021.
The offer of a fully funded place for 5 days per student was made to the parents of all eligible students and offered to all, irrespective of their academic and socio-economic background. In total 134 out of 147 students participated in the programme. Get Set for RBA was funded through the ESFA/DfE Coronavirus (COVID-19) Summer School Programme Funding and was run over 1 week, between Monday 23rd August and Friday 27th August.
The programme was led by RBA Teaching/Support Staff and external companies were used to enrich the children’s experience. The programme was designed to offer a balance of academic and enrichment sessions, as well as team building opportunities, to support our students’ immersion into RBA culture, reducing apprehension, and instilling a sense of comradery and community.
The school was allocated £32894.70 in funding and a total of £31822.46 was spent.
