Headteacher's Welcome

HeadteacherAs the Headteacher, I am delighted to welcome you to the Robert Barclay Academy.  Whether you are a student, parent, neighbour, prospective student or part of our wider community, I hope this website will provide a brief insight into our Academy and some of the amazing work and achievements our students and staff have undertaken.

We are very proud of our successes and the rapid progress we have made.  There have been considerable improvements to the quality of teaching, our learning environment, and the ethos and culture, and these have all impacted upon much improved examination results at both GCSE and A-Level.  As a new Academy, and as part of the highly successful Scholars' Education Trust, we plan to build upon this success through benefiting from an exceptional range of support and guidance that the Trust can provide.

We believe that every child can succeed if they are challenged and inspired appropriately.  A well balanced curriculum supported by a comprehensive extra-curricular provision helps Robert Barclay Academy students develop as rounded and grounded individuals with the necessary skills and knowledge to be successful in adult life.

All our students are expected to aim high, work hard and be polite. This is achieved through clear expectations around behaviour and a comprehensive rewards system that encourages students to do well and ensures they feel safe and are able to meet the high challenges we set.

At Robert Barclay Academy we really want to make a difference to young people and we very much look forward to welcoming you and your family and becoming one of our many successes of the future.

Please do not hesitate to contact us with any queries or suggestions and visitors are always welcome.

Ced de la Croix, Headteacher
