Careers Day

To aid this, we send our students to the award winning Careers Day based at our Trust Partner School (Sir John Lawes School) and that has been recognised nationally by the British Chamber of Commerce.

This careers day goes from strength to strength and offers our Year 12 students an amazing opportunity to engage with over 80 organisations, both Blue Chip and local employers whose calibre is ensured with at least 7 of the top 10 Graduate Employers (as listed by The Times) being represented.  Held in March, the day comprises of a morning carousel of over 50 talks from companies about careers in their sector, from which students select those that they are most interested in attending.  Then in the afternoon our students approach companies on their stands in the Careers Fair to discuss specific opportunities that are available extending from school leaver and Apprenticeship programmes to post Graduate Schemes.  Many students each year are successful in securing work experience and mentoring from those attending.
